This first lunch and learn helps employees recognize some of the complexities higher education is facing today and the subsequent trickle down effects from society to the system of Bethel to the individual employee. Characteristics of a chronically anxious system are identified. Finally, strategies for individuals working in chronically anxious systems are explored so that employees can recognize where they do have agency with regards to their life and wellbeing.

"Maintaining Your wellbeing when Your system is in flux" |
This second lunch and learn shifts attention from the larger Bethel system to the individual employee. Common experiences for employees in the wake of lay offs are identified. Differentiation of self is defined and described as a necessary way of being during tumultuous system seasons. Finally, six specific practices for investing in one's intrapersonal wellbeing are identified and explained so that employees recognize additional places of agency they have in order to help them through a season such as this.

The final lunch and learn in this three part series addresses disillusionment with a system and how it can erode one's sense of wellbeing. Productive strategies for navigating unmet or changing expectations of one's system are identified. Finally, employees are invited to explore how adaptation and shared vision for an expanding future not only influences each person individually but also dramatically impacts motivation, optimism and investment in our larger system of Bethel.
